"I can't do yoga, I'm not flexible enough!"

So many times I have heard this statement, and then a laugh.


What is my response (if I give one)? "Yoga isn't about being flexible, it's about working with where you are in your body and in your mind. So yes, you can do yoga." :)


The reply after usually goes something like this; "I didn't think of it that way, maybe I should give it a try."


Learning something new is always a challenge at first, but usually gives you the feel of success once tried, and with Yoga a feeing of good health and wellbeing can overcome you.


Better movement is what everyone decides they want to have at whatever age they are in, and having a yoga practice can assist you in more easeful movement and understanding within yourself. So forget all the thoughts you may have of what Yoga "should" look like and give your body a chance to show you what it can do with Yoga as another tool in your toolbox of wellbeing :)




Forward Fold- use blocks to bring floor up to you for more ease.





Get into a pose with ease instead of straining yourself to "fit". Instead of trying to do the splits right from the get go, try working with poses that will slowly get you to where your goal is.
